About FM Ramos

FM Ramos is a Bronx-born artist whose abstract drawings and paintings explore faces, New York City landscapes, and letters. His wife Christine is an artist, biologist, and educator. She is the co-creator and curator of this website, working with FM to select the works and designs that are included in the collection. 

Christine also brings her own artistic perspective and photographic work to the presentation of FM's art. Her photographs are identified by the initials CDR. 

FM Ramos and Christine met as teenagers while studying fine arts at the High School of Art & Design in Manhattan. They live in the Bronx and continue to collaborate on many creative pursuits.

Born and raised in the Bronx, FM is the son of a Cuban-born mother who grew up in the Bronx and a father who was born and raised in the Dominican Republic.

FM's work ranges from small canvases and drawings to large murals. His faces represent individual stories, identity, compassion, empathy, and resilience. FM's New York City landscapes blend nostalgia and cartoon-like fantasy, serving as a personal homage to the city he has called home all his life. His fascination with typography inspires his exploration of letters and their expressive possibilities.

Alongside his artistic practice, FM holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from New York University and a master's degree in social work from Lehman College, CUNY. He is a licensed social worker and works in a hospital setting in New York City.
